I'm Maria :) Welcome to Miraal.

I still remember my childhood days, sitting on my mum's bed, watching her get ready for a wedding or some special event. The "click" and "clink" of glass bangles being slid on, one by one, until both arms were full.

That sound got quieter as I grew up. Life got busier, styles got simpler, dressed up in tag names like "modern" and "Western," and traditional pieces like glass bangles and kundan jewellery slowly turned into something we saved for "some special day." A day that, somehow, came around quite rarely.

But something has changed. More and more, I see South Asian women, here in Australia and all over the world, regardless of age, choosing to wear that same jewellery proudly. Not just on special occasions anymore, but on ordinary days too.

This is where Miraal was born.

I wanted it to be easy, really easy, for us to find glass bangles, kundan jewellery, and handwoven mul cotton sarees that feel exactly as special as they did when we were small. No more waiting for a trip overseas. No more hunting through a dozen unreliable sellers online.

We're a small, Sydney-based business, and every single order is packed by hand, with care, by me, usually with a cup of hot coffee close by.
